A NEW HIGH STRENGTH

ADJUSTABLE COLUMN

A new high strength adjustable residential and light industrial pipe column has been recently introduced to the St. Louis Market. The Fenster Steel Corporation, the major supplier of residential steel and columns in the St. Louis area, developed and recently introduced this New Schedule 40 Adjustable Column under the name of Mighty Rite 40TM.

According to Ed Cota, Vice president of Fenster Steel, the Mighty Rite 40TM Column was developed to provide higher load capacity than the 11 gauge adjustable column (also introduced by Fenster Steel in 1969) which is required by some of the newer, larger homes. The Mighty Rite 40TM Column retains the flexibility and convenience of adjustable columns as required by residential contractors.

The Mighty Rite 40TM Adjustable Columns are available from Fenster Steel in 31/2" OD and 4" OD with standard lengths in 3" increments from 6'0 to 16'0". The standard columns allow loading up to 26,389 pounds (depending on length) and special order columns up to 37,362 pounds for the 31/2" and 47,462 pounds for the 4" (based on a 6'0" column height).
